Our Services
You’re in the right place. If you’re facing challenges in your life such as mental or physical health, talk to us about how our housing services can help you to live independently.
Our minimal support services help people live independently and maintain their own home. We can advocate for you by talking to local authorities, housing associations, social services, and private landlords to make sure you get the accommodation you need. We can also help with things like tenancy agreements and applying for grants or housing benefit.
When you are ready we will work with you to move on from supported living to your own safe and secure home. Our social housing is available to people experiencing different life challenges, which you or your local authority can apply for.

At Birkbeck Properties, we provide minimal supported housing solutions designed for individuals with diverse needs.

Minimal Housing support
"Minimal housing support services" are designed to help individuals maintain their independence and prevent homelessness by providing specific, often short-term, assistance rather than intensive daily care.
These services generally focus on housing-related tasks and support, with the core purpose being to help people manage their homes effectively.
Key aspects of minimal housing support services include:
-
Tenancy sustainment: Assistance with addressing rent arrears, dealing with anti-social behaviour, and understanding tenancy agreements to avoid eviction.
-
Financial management: Help with managing money, creating budgets, understanding welfare benefits, and ensuring claims (like Universal Credit or Housing Benefit) are processed correctly.
-
Accessing other services: Signposting and referring individuals to other organisations for specific needs, such as employment services, healthcare (e.g., GP registration), or low-cost furniture providers.
-
Practical skills: Support with essential independent living skills like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and general property maintenance.
-
Advocacy and liaison: Acting as a link between the service user and external agencies, such as local authorities, utility companies, or healthcare teams.

Local Outreach Support
We aim to launch an Outreach support service to provide flexible community-based help for individuals (children, adults, families) needing assistance with daily living, independence, skills (cooking, budgeting, social), accessing services (benefits, health, housing, jobs), and emotional/behavioural management, often tailored to specific needs like disabilities or domestic abuse, helping people live more independently at home and engage with their community.
-
Assist with cooking, budgeting, travelling, homework, and finding employment or training.
-
Connect individuals with health services, welfare benefits, housing, and justice systems.
-
Emotional & Behavioural Support:
Offer tools for managing emotions, addressing challenging behaviours, and providing support for issues like domestic abuse.
-
Encourage social activities, help make friends, and integrate people into their local community.
-
Act as liaisons with other agencies and advocate for the service user's needs.
-
Help people stay in their own homes by teaching life skills, managing tenancies, and supporting community participation.
